Fly Corporate has chosen Essendon Airport as the Melbourne base for direct flights between Orange, NSW and Melbourne in a Saab 340B.
Commencing on 9 October 2017, flights will operate Monday to Friday departing Orange at 9.50am and arriving at Melbourne’s Essendon Airport at 11.35am. The return service will depart Melbourne’s Essendon Airport at 12.20pm and arrive in Orange at 1.55pm.
Andrew Major, CEO of Fly Corporate, said: “We have chosen to operate this service utilising Melbourne’s Essendon Airport.
Essendon Airport stood out for us with its close proximity to the Melbourne CBD as well as other great advantages, such as extremely economical car parking rates and no airport congestion. For passengers inbound to Melbourne wanting to connect on to other domestic and international destinations, there is a free shuttle bus connecting the two airports.”
CEO of Essendon Airport Chris Cowan said: “The service by Fly Corporate to Orange is exactly the kind of service that will flourish at Essendon. Orange passengers will enjoy the benefits of arriving at Essendon Airport especially the time savings, lack of congestion and the popular retail amenities on site. Fly Corporate is the 5th regional airline to choose Essendon as its Melbourne base mostly through word of mouth which is very encouraging. The team at Fly Corporate has been a delight to work with in planning this new route.”
Orange Mayor John Davis OAM is thrilled by the news of the new direct flights to Melbourne. A survey of passengers at the Orange airport found that Melbourne was the most requested destination, closely followed by Brisbane.
With impressive colonial buildings, award-winning restaurants and elegant wine bars, the vibrant city of Orange is the perfect escape for fine food and wine and wonderful heritage walks.
